My most favorite afghan EVER! July 2017

I was looking for a Harley Davidson afghan to crochet for my dad for Christmas and found this one. I loved crocheting it. It took about 2 months to finish, but I think the end result is GREAT! Here is a picture progress of the whole project:

A mess of yarn!

I decided I needed to come up with a better plan, these kept getting tangled up

I put yarn on these embroidery cards. At one point I had 50 of these cards filled and also was using several smaller balls of yarn!

I found that I needed to go on the back and cut yarn that had been left behind and tuck them all in as I went instead of waiting until the end of the project.

The weird thing about the Harley Davidson words is that you can hardly read it just looking at it, but in the pictures it looks so clear. 

I can see the mistake can you? I don't know if I read the pattern wrong or if I skipped a line or what, but there is a random white stitch that should be either black or orange. Did I fix it? NOPE! I left it and hope that nobody else can see it even though it is glaring to me!

Finished! I added a little bit of a border. I was going to add more, but I was tired of the project by then and I thought this was big enough so I left it.

 I think my dad will love this! But now I have to wait until Christmas to give it to him! Ack! That will be difficult as I want to show it to everyone!!!

There are a lot of other Harley designs there and other graphs and such to choose from. I need to go browse now that I am projectless! I didn't really look around while there because I was specifically looking for the Harley design.

This project took a lot of time! I mean serious time! I watched a ton of episodes of Bones and lots of movies and other TV while crocheting this. I believe it took me about 2 months, but it could have been longer. I focused pretty much all of my time on it. Mainly because I was obssessed! No, I will never crochet this particular pattern again! I'm a one-time kind of project gal!

May 2017

I made this afghan for a friend for her birthday in June. I hope it is the colors that match her bedroom and bathroom!

April 2017- Argyle afghan

I made this afghan for a family friend who's birthday is in April. I didn't get it finished for his birthday though! This afghan took me forever to finish! I mean forever! It was time consuming. This is how I gauged the time:

I watched 8 seasons of M*A*S*H
8 episodes of Agatha Christie movies
At least 3 other types of movies, but I'm sure more
And countless other TV shows that kept my mind occupied while my fingers kept busy with this afghan.

Another way I counted time was that it took me a whole day of pretty much non-stop crocheting to finish a diamond and a half!

I love the finished project! Another time consuming part of this afghan was that I had to have 5 different skeins of yarn going at once so I had to constantly stop and untangle the whole mess every now and then. ha!

Onto my next project...some lighter colors and a bit more feminine!

This afghan took me way too long to finish. But it was for me and so I had to set it aside for Christmas projects and then set it aside for other things going on in life. It is finished now and it turned out better than I thought it would. There are lots of flaws, but since it is for me I am not going to worry about them!

January 2017

I started this afghan before Christmas. It actually was going to be a sweater for my mom, but I just didn't like the way it was turning out and so I pulled it all out and started this afghan for her instead. I didn't finish it for Christmas though so I am now ready to give it to her for her birthday in April!

ponytail hats December 2016

We barely have long enough hair for a ponytail! A friend asked if I could make one of these. I had seen one on facebook so looked up the pattern. There are a lot out there! This looked simple enough. The first try though I made the "adult" one and as you can see, it barely fits my 5 year old granddaughter! So I upped the needle size and added some rows and made the adult one. Then I made another one a bit smaller for my 8 year old granddaughter. They both love them and the ladies that their father works with want me to make some for their daughters. They were a project that piqued my interest since I'm feeling kind of blah about making Christmas gifts this year.
