My Crochet Journey So Far

I learned to crochet when I was 16. My Great Grandmother was living with us at the time. She was a prolific crocheter. I had broken up with a boyfriend and was moping around the house. My Grandmother couldn't stand it so she sat me down and taught me how to crochet. She taught me how to crochet the granny square and let me tell you that that was the HUGEST granny square afghan that anyone has ever made! I just kept going and going and going! I slowly branched out from making afghans to making sweaters and other things. I don't intend to post patterns because these are not my original designs. I just thought it would be fun to have some sort of record of what I have made and who it went to.

Christmas 2019

I made 6 of these bags in different colors for all of the boys in the family. Thanks to my husband for modeling one for me. I thought the bags looked a little feminine so my idea was to buy these bamboo sticks and tie the bags to them for hobo bags. In each bag I put a beach towel so they can carry all of their summer pool items with them. I made the girls beach bags that are like big purses. I will put a beach towel in each of these too. I made 5.

I made 20 of these soap savers and washcloths. I will put a nice bar of soap with each set and give them to my Bible study women and a few of my friends.

I got this graph from kendrascrochet@gmail.com. She sent me the graph for free and then I crocheted a blanket using it.

I thought it turned out great! It is for my youngest daughter. She loves Disney World and went on vacation there for a week. I think she'll like this throw.

More 2018 Christmas Projects

I made 5 wreaths. This first one I tried to get away with doing a little less expensive so I didn't get a form. I just crocheted a tube and stuffed it. Well since there was no support it drooped! I bought a wire wreath form and attached the wreath to it. It worked perfect.

After the first one I then went and bought these forms to do the rest.

I made this afghan for a friend. This is one strip of  5. Thirty-Five squares all together.

I made a snowman for a friend. The directions were in Spanish so it was interesting trying to follow them. I used the translator to help. HERE is the website

We made an unexpected trip to Florida to help take care of my mother-in-law and so I had a lot of time to make these ornaments that I then gave away to my Bible Study women at our annual Christmas party.
